Ganderbal 30 July (KNZ):In a swift and decisive move, authorities on Wednesday sealed Shah Pharmacy at Khalmulla Alesteng in Ganderbal district after a viral video raised serious concerns over alleged violations. The action was taken under Section 22D of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, empowering officials to shut down drug outlets suspected of malpractice.

During the operation, officials lifted legal samples of two drugs from the premises for detailed laboratory analysis. The raid and subsequent sealing were carried out under the direct supervision of Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Bhat, Assistant Controller Drugs, Ganderbal.

The pharmacy has been ordered to remain closed until the investigation is concluded, with authorities making it clear that strict action will follow if violations are confirmed.

The viral video, which quickly spread across social media, prompted outrage and immediate intervention from the drug control department. Sources say more surprise inspections may follow in the coming days.

This crackdown has sent a strong message across the district: pharmacies flouting rules will face the full force of the law without delay.KNZ
