Ganderbal, Feb 2(KNZ):The truck accident at S-Mode in the Hariganiwan area of Ganderbal district turned fatal on Monday after the driver succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Sameer Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, a resident of Chuntimulla, Bandipora.He was critically injured in the accident and was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan, from where he was later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The conductor of the truck, Bilal Ahmad Khan, son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Pattan, Baramulla, sustained minor injuries in the mishap and is undergoing treatment.
As reported earlier, the truck, which was coming from Sonamarg, lost control near a sharp curve at S-Mode, Hariganiwan, overturned and fell onto a residential house.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.(KNZ)
