Ganderbal, Nov 22 (KNZ): The labourer who was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle inside the Z-Morh Tunnel in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed on Saturday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Raina, son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Gagangeer. Raina was performing routine cleaning and maintenance work inside the under-construction tunnel when a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK03K-5847) entered the stretch and struck him.
He was immediately evacuated by co-workers and shifted to SKIMS Soura, where he was undergoing treatment. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said they have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation is underway.officials added (KNZ)
