Bandipora, Jan 14 (KNZ):In a swift enforcement action, the Special Enforcement Team of Traffic Rural Kashmir intercepted a public service vehicle after a video showing the driver engaging in extreme rash and negligent driving went viral on social media.

 

The vehicle was being driven by Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Ahsan, a resident of Saderkote Payeen in Bandipora district. Acting on the video, the enforcement team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Ganderbal–Bandipora Gulzar Ahmad, along with the Station Officer, Traffic Rural Bandipora, traced and intercepted the vehicle.

 

The concerned Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) imposed a challan on the vehicle, and the driver’s licence was cancelled.

 

 

The action was taken under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh. The SSP reiterated that there would be zero tolerance towards rash and negligent driving and said that special enforcement teams have been constituted across the unit to strengthen monitoring and deterrence.

 

Traffic authorities have appealed to commuters and drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and adopt responsible driving practices to ensure public safety.(KNZ)
