Ganderbal, April 22: The Traders Federation Ganderbal has announced a complete bandh across the district tomorrow, condemning the tragic killing of innocent tourists in a recent horrific attack. The call for the shutdown comes as a mark of collective grief, outrage, and solidarity with the bereaved families.
In a statement, the Federation said the bandh is aimed at highlighting the urgent need to restore peace, ensure the safety of visitors, and uphold the region’s long-standing tradition of hospitality. “This cowardly act has deeply shaken the conscience of the people of Ganderbal. We stand united in mourning and in demanding accountability and enhanced security for all,” the statement read.
Shops, businesses, and commercial establishments are expected to remain closed throughout the day, while essential services will be exempt from the bandh. The Federation urged all sections of society to support the peaceful shutdown and express their condemnation of violence.
