Ganderbal, January 6, 2026:In view of the upcoming Republic Day–2026, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess and strengthen the security arrangements across the district. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal.
During the meeting, SSP Ganderbal conducted a comprehensive review of the overall security scenario and preparedness to ensure peaceful, secure, and incident-free Republic Day celebrations in the district.
The meeting was attended by Colonel Shri Bishal Thapa (13 RR Army), Shri Arvind Kumar, CO 4th Battalion SSB, Shri Ram Kumar Prasad, CO 63rd Battalion SSB, Shri Mohan Singh, AC CRPF 49th Battalion, other senior officers of CAPFs, Additional SP Ganderbal, Gazetted Officers of District Police, and SHOs of concerned police stations.
Threadbare discussions were held on deployment strategies, area domination, intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination, protection of vulnerable points, access control measures, and traffic management plans.
Emphasis was laid on enhanced surveillance, proactive policing, and intensified patrolling to prevent any attempt to disrupt public peace and order.
SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, stressed the importance of real-time information sharing, close coordination among all security agencies, and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He directed officers to remain alert, responsive, and mission-oriented while ensuring public convenience and instilling a sense of security among citizens during the celebrations.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve by all participating agencies to work in close coordination to ensure that Republic Day–2026 is celebrated in a peaceful, secure, and dignified manner across District Ganderbal.
