Ganderbal, May 22, 2025:Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, chaired a comprehensive Crime and Security Review Meeting at the Conference Hall, District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal. The meeting witnessed the participation of Gazetted Officers (GOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), In-Charge Police Posts (I/C PPs), Investigating Officers (IOs), and other senior officers of the district.
During the session, SSP Poswal placed significant emphasis on the implementation of the New Criminal Laws (NCL), underlining their victim-centric approach. He outlined a strategic roadmap aimed at raising awareness about the benefits and provisions of these new laws among the general public. Officers were instructed to utilize the updated legal framework effectively to ensure justice is served equitably and efficiently.
A key highlight of the meeting was the SSP’s call for intensified action against drug abuse and cybercrime. He urged officers to redouble efforts to curb the menace of narcotics and remain vigilant against evolving cyber threats. Furthermore, he directed the swift and timely disposal of all pending cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Officers also provided detailed briefings on the prevailing security scenarios in their respective jurisdictions. In response, SSP Poswal offered insights on proactive strategies to counter emerging challenges and stressed the need for inter-agency coordination to enhance the overall security architecture of the district.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with SSP Ganderbal commending the officers for their dedicated efforts and urging them to continue serving the public with integrity and commitment.
