Ganderbal, June 21, 2025: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal, organized a Special Lok Adalat for Revenue & Consumer cases today on June 21, 2025 in the District Ganderbal.
The Lok-Adalat was successfully conducted under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Palli, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Patron-in-Chief, J&K Legal Services Authority) and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority). The initiative was effectively overseen by Ms. Shazia Tabasum, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, and Mr. Abdul Nasir, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, along with the guidance of Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal, whose collective leadership and support were instrumental in its successful execution.
Two benches were constituted for amicable settlement of the cases, in which the first bench was presided over by Ms. Rafia Hassan, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Ganderbal and Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal was the bench member. The first bench heard cases at the court complex, Ganderbal. The second bench was presided over by Mr. Sheikh Salahu-ud-din (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ganderbal and Mr. Umer Farooq, Tehsildar Wakura, was the bench member. The second bench heard cases at the Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
A total number of 39 cases were taken up by the two benches, out of which 25 cases were successfully settled and an amount of Rs 71,550/- (Rupees Seventy One Thousand Five Hundred Fifty only) was awarded as settlement amount.
