Srinagar, Oct 2025: In a major counter-terror operation, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Wednesday carried out extensive searches at eight locations across seven districts of the Valley as part of its ongoing probe into a sleeper cell module allegedly operating under the directions of Pakistan-based terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

The searches, conducted in connection with FIR No. 01/2025 of Police Station CI/SIA Kashmir, form part of the agency’s concerted effort to dismantle the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to officials, the coordinated raids were carried out simultaneously in all three ranges North, Central, and South Kashmir, targeting individuals suspected of aiding and abetting terror activities. During the operation, substantial incriminating material was seized, and several suspects were detained for questioning.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the module was deeply involved in a terrorist conspiracy to spread secessionist propaganda, radicalize youth, and recruit them into terror ranks. The network was also found to be actively engaged in promoting anti-India narratives, aimed at undermining national sovereignty and fueling public disorder and communal discord.

An SIA spokesperson said the searches reflect the agency’s “unrelenting commitment to uproot the entire terror support structure” and strike at the roots of the ecosystem that sustains terrorism in the Valley.

The operation underscores SIA’s resolve to dismantle networks that threaten peace and stability in the region,” the official added.
