Bandipora : Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society Organisation inaugurated a cutting and tailoring training centre at Ganastan Sumbal, marking a significant initiative toward women’s empowerment in the area.
The facility was formally opened by the organisation’s Incharge Kashmir, Tafazul Wani, in the presence of local residents and community members.
The centre will provide professional training in cutting and tailoring to 30 girls from the locality. The programme is aimed at equipping young women with practical, income-generating skills to help them achieve financial independence and support their families.
Speaking at the event, organisers underlined the importance of skill-based education in rural areas, noting that such initiatives create sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthen communities economically and socially.
Local residents welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed step for the upliftment of girls in Ganastan Sumbal. They expressed optimism that similar programmes would be introduced in other areas to further promote women’s empowerment and self-reliance.
