Srinagar, Nov 25:The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department on Tuesday announced the winter vacation schedule for all government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir division and the winter-zone areas of the Jammu division.
According to Government Order No. 665-JK (Edu) of 2025, winter vacations will be observed as follows: Pre-primary (Balvatika) from November 26, 2025 to February 28, 2026, classes 1 to 8 from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, and classes 9 to 12 from December 11, 2025 to February 22, 2026.
The department said all teaching staff must remain available for academic activities during the vacation, while teachers have been directed to report back to their schools on February 20, 2026 for reopening preparations.
It added that any deviation from the notified schedule by school heads or teaching staff would attract strict action under rules
