Ganderbal Aug 8 (KNZ):In a major extension of the ongoing food safety drive that recently hit Srinagar, authorities in Ganderbal and Kangan have seized and destroyed more than 150 kilograms of rotten and unhygienic meat products.

In Kangan, inspection teams confiscated nearly 70 kilograms of unhygienic chicken, kabab, rista, and fish from multiple food outlets. Officials said the items were stored in extremely unsanitary conditions and were declared unfit for human consumption on the spot.

In Ganderbal, enforcement squads seized around 80 kilograms of rotten mutton, kabab, and rista from local eateries during a parallel operation.

A senior official told Kashmir News Zone (KNZ) that strict warnings have been issued to shopkeepers and food business operators to maintain proper hygiene. He confirmed that regular surprise inspections will continue and violators will be booked under relevant sections of the FSSAI Act.(KNZ)
