Baramulla Feb 27: Acting on specific input regarding illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Reram–Gardimaidan Nallah, Ferozpora, during night hours, Baramulla Police launched a special operation in the area.
Special police teams were deputed to the spot, which led to the successful seizure of three JCB machines (without registration numbers) and one tractor bearing Registration No. JK09-8663 involved in illegal mining activities. Besides, four persons have also been arrested. They have identified as Saqib Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie resident of Reram, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohd Dar resident of Mundi Poonch, Waseem Ahmad Reshi son of Ab Ahad Reshi resident of Pariswani and Muzaffar Ahmad Ganie.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 16/2026 has been registered under the relevant provisions of law, and further investigation is underway.
J&K Police reiterates its firm commitment to curb illegal mining activities and urges the general public to cooperate and share information regarding such unlawful practices.
