GANDERBAL, NOV 8(knz):In a major counter-terrorism action, the Ganderbal Police on Saturday launched a coordinated crackdown on Jammu and Kashmir nationals operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), officials said.

According to police, simultaneous Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) were carried out at around 60 locations across the district following credible intelligence inputs about individuals maintaining regular contact with their relatives based across the border and allegedly involved in terror financing, facilitation, and propaganda.

“Several relatives and close associates of active J&K Nationals Operating from Pakistan/PoK (JKNOP) were questioned for their suspected involvement in unlawful activities, including logistical support and recruitment facilitation,” an official said.

Police said a number of digital devices and incriminating materials were recovered during the searches and have been sent for detailed forensic examination.

Authorities said the crackdown is part of an ongoing campaign to disrupt terror-support networks and ensure strict legal action against those aiding or abetting terrorism.

“Ganderbal Police remains committed to maintaining peace, stability, and the security of citizens in the district,” the statement added.(knz)
