Ganderbal, 22 Nov:In a proactive move to strengthen security and prevent the misuse of hazardous materials, Ganderbal Police on Saturday conducted extensive search and inspection drives across multiple Industrial Estates in the district. The operation focused on auditing the stock and usage of industrial chemicals stored and used by various units.
During the inspections, police officers interacted with unit heads and management teams, examined chemical storage facilities, and reviewed official records and documentation to ensure full compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines. Industrial stakeholders were also briefed about the critical importance of maintaining transparency, safety protocols, and accountability in the handling and distribution of sensitive substances.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of ongoing preventive security efforts aimed at eliminating risks of chemicals being diverted for illegal or anti-national purposes. Ganderbal Police affirmed that such audits and surprise inspections will continue periodically to strengthen safety at industrial installations and maintain public security.
