Srinagar, Jan 6 (KNC): One person lost his life while another remains in critical condition after the duo sustained grievous injuries when they were allegedly buried under sand in Achgoza area of South Kashmir Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the injured were identified as Arshid Ahmad Mir a resident of New Colony Pakharpora, and Basit Shaikh, also a resident of New Colony Pakharpora, both aged in their mid-twenties.
The duo was allegedly buried under sand at Achagoza, Romshu, resulting in multiple serious injuries. They were initially rushed to PHC Keller and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment, they said.
However, Arshid Ahmad Mir succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital during treatment. After completing medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to his legal heirs on the directions of the concerned authorities.
The condition of the second injured person remains critical, while further details into the incident are awaited. Police have taken cognizance of the matter. (KNC)
