Ganderbal, Mar 12 (KNZ): An extensive market checking drive was conducted in Kangan market of Ganderbal district on the directions of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan, officials said on Thursday.
An official told Kashmir News Zone that .The inspection was carried out by a joint team comprising the Food Safety Officer, the Veterinary Surgeon and a police party.
During the drive, several shops and street vendors were inspected. Authorities found a number of vendors openly selling food items such as snacks, pakodas and jaleebi without adhering to prescribed norms.
An amount of ₹7,000 was realised as fine from the erring shopkeepers and street vendors for violations, officials said.
The team also directed traders and vendors to strictly follow food safety and hygiene standards and warned that strict action will be taken against violators during future inspections.(KNZ)
