Handwara, Apr 16 (KB): The body of a man was found near an orchard in the Upper Magam area of Handwara on Tuesday, officials said.
As per details available with news agency Kashmir Bulletin, the body was spotted by locals, who immediately informed the authorities. Police rushed to the spot and took custody of the body for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Ab Rasheed Lone, son of Mohd Akbar and a resident of Magam Handwara.
The cause of death remains unknown at this stage, however police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. (KB)
