Ganderbal, January 12:In a sustained and proactive drive against illegal mining, Ganderbal Police has intensified enforcement across the district to curb unlawful extraction and transportation of minor minerals.

During the ongoing operation, police teams seized nine vehicles, including seven tippers and two tractors, involved in illegal mineral extraction and transportation within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal.

The seized vehicles were found transporting illegally extracted material from Nallah Sindh without obtaining mandatory permissions.

Acting swiftly and in close coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, police teams intercepted the vehicles on the spot and took them into custody, further tightening the clampdown on illegal mining activities in the area.

Police officials emphasized that illegal extraction not only results in significant loss to the public exchequer but also poses a grave threat to the ecological balance and environmental sustainability of the region.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its firm commitment to protecting natural resources and warned that strict legal action will continue against individuals involved in illegal extraction, transportation, or trade of minerals.

Offenders have once again been cautioned to desist from such unlawful activities, as Ganderbal Police remains resolute in enforcing the law and safeguarding the environment.
