Ganderbal, October 25:In its continued drive to curb social crimes and anti-social activities, Ganderbal Police achieved a major success by busting a gambling racket and arresting six individuals involved in the illegal act within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal.

Acting on specific and reliable information, a police team from PS Ganderbal conducted a swift and well-coordinated raid in the Gadoora area, where a group of persons were found indulging in gambling activities. On noticing the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee the spot; however, the alert team acted swiftly and apprehended all six accused on the spot.

During the operation, police recovered stake money amounting to ₹30,520 and playing cards from their possession. The arrested persons were identified as:

In this connection, a case FIR No. 179/2025 under relevant sections of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.

A police spokesperson reiterated that Ganderbal Police remains fully committed to eliminating the menace of social crimes from society and urged citizens to refrain from such unlawful activities.
