Ganderbal:Ganderbal Police achieved a major breakthrough in a kidnapping case by rescuing a minor boy within just one hour of the incident and arresting one accused person involved in the crime.
An application was received at Police Station Lar from a complainant (name withheld), stating that his nephew (name withheld) had been kidnapped by unknown persons near his residence at Chanthan Gulabpora, Lar, around 6:30 PM today.
Acting swiftly, police registered FIR No. 03/2026 under relevant sections of law and immediately launched an investigation. On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS), a special investigation team was constituted. Through coordinated technical and ground-level efforts, the kidnapped boy was successfully traced and rescued safely within an hour.
During the operation, one accused, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Teeli, son of Abdul Jabbar Teli, resident of Kurhama, was arrested. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized near Barsoo Chowk.
Further investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend other accused persons involved in the case.
Ganderbal Police reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
