Ganderbal, 26 Dec 26:In a major success reflecting effective cyber policing, the Cyber Police Station Ganderbal has successfully traced and recovered 46 missing mobile phones, collectively worth several lakhs of rupees, from different parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Over the past four months, the Cyber Police Station Ganderbal received multiple complaints from the general public through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Portal as well as various police units regarding lost and missing mobile phones.
Acting swiftly on these complaints and under the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS), special and dedicated teams were constituted to investigate the cases.
Through sustained technical surveillance and field-level operations, the teams successfully traced and recovered the missing mobile phones from multiple locations across the UT. The recovered devices were formally handed over to their rightful owners today by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS) in the presence of the Dy.SP Headquarters Ganderbal, after completion of all legal formalities.
This achievement highlights the commitment of Ganderbal Police towards addressing public grievances and combating cyber-enabled crimes through the effective use of modern technology and coordinated policing.
Meanwhile, the Cyber Police Station Ganderbal has advised the general public to remain vigilant while using mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to protect themselves from cyber frauds and crimes.
Citizens have been urged to immediately report any cybercrime or fraud on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) and also inform the Cyber Police Station Ganderbal without delay.
