Ganderbal, 24 Nov:As part of the nationwide celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration and unity, Ganderbal Police on Monday organised a Kabaddi Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School, Wakura.
The event received remarkable enthusiasm from local youth, sports lovers, and students, who gathered in large numbers to participate and cheer for their teams. Several kabaddi teams representing different areas of Ganderbal district competed in the tournament, displaying exceptional skills, discipline, and a strong spirit of teamwork.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Addl. SP Ganderbal Shri Owaise Loun-JKPS, in presence of I/C PP Shadipora and other officers. In his address, the Addl. SP highlighted the role of sports in promoting physical fitness, unity, and positive engagement among the youth. He also emphasized the importance of such community-oriented initiatives in strengthening police-public relations and providing platforms for young talent.
Participants and spectators appreciated the efforts of Ganderbal Police for organising the tournament and encouraging sports culture in the region. The winning team and outstanding performers were honoured with trophies and certificates.
