Ganderbal, Feb 28: In a tribute to India’s “Iron Man,” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Ganderbal Police organised an interactive quiz competition at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kangan to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary.
Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating impressive knowledge, confidence, and competitive spirit. The quiz focused on themes of national unity, integrity, leadership, and civic responsibility—values closely associated with Patel’s life and legacy.
The event was attended by Rajeev Raina, SDPO Kangan; Inspector Younis Khan, SHO Kangan; the school principal; faculty members; and senior officers, all of whom praised the students’ enthusiasm and highlighted the importance of youth participation in nation-building initiatives.
Winners were felicitated with mementos and certificates, while all participants received appreciation for their active involvement.
As part of the programme, students also visited Tehsil Public Library Kangan, where they explored a wide range of books and learning resources, encouraging reading habits and intellectual curiosity.
Reaffirming its commitment to community-centric policing, Ganderbal Police said such outreach programmes aim to nurture informed, responsible, and patriotic citizens.
