GANDERBAL, 27 November 2025:
Ganderbal Police acted promptly after a video showing two individuals creating a nuisance at the famed tourist destination Sonamarg surfaced on social media. The duo, identified as Mehraj Din Sheikh, son of Mohd Sabir from Kullan, and Mohd Arshid Mir, son of Sona-Ullah Mir from Gund, were detained for their unruly behaviour and attempts to disturb public peace.
According to officials, the individuals were causing inconvenience to both tourists and locals. Personnel from Police Station Sonamarg immediately apprehended them and initiated legal action. The accused were bound down for their conduct and presented before the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Gund for further proceedings as per law.
Ganderbal Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe, peaceful, and harassment-free atmosphere for visitors across Sonamarg and other scenic destinations in the district.
