Ganderbal, 18 July 2025:In its ongoing commitment to eradicate the menace of drug abuse, Ganderbal Police, in collaboration with the Revenue and Excise Department, carried out a large-scale destruction drive against wild cannabis (bhung) cultivation in Takanwari and adjoining areas under the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora.
The operation, conducted under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS), was led by the Incharge PP Shadipora along with dedicated police personnel. Significantly, local youth actively participated in the drive, showcasing strong community resolve against the growing threat of narcotics in society.
Ganderbal Police has reiterated its firm commitment towards creating a drug-free society and has appealed to citizens to extend their cooperation by reporting individuals or landowners engaged in illegal cultivation of cannabis or poppy, ensuring strict legal action against them.
