GANDERBAL | 24th July 2025:In a continued effort to fortify security arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, Ganderbal Police, in coordination with the CRPF and other security agencies, conducted a high-intensity mock drill at the Transit Camp Manigam today.

The drill was meticulously designed to test the operational readiness and emergency response capabilities of the forces in the face of multiple simulated threat scenarios, including fidayeen (suicide) attacks, mass evacuations, and coordinated rescue operations.

The exercise targeted key strategic points within the transit camp—areas deemed vulnerable during high footfall—to evaluate rapid response efficiency and inter-agency synergy in high-pressure situations.

Key focus areas of the drill included:

Enhancing real-time communication across agencies

Strengthening SOP compliance and situational protocols

Testing coordinated action between Police, CRPF, and rescue teams

Assessing ground-level deployment and logistical preparedness

The mock exercise was conducted under the close supervision of senior officers from the Jammu & Kashmir Police, CRPF, and other intelligence and emergency response units, who reviewed the simulation, identified areas of improvement, and provided vital feedback to further enhance security frameworks.

This mock drill is part of a broader preventive security strategy aimed at ensuring a peaceful, seamless, and spiritually enriching pilgrimage experience for thousands of devotees. By conducting such drills regularly, Ganderbal Police reaffirms its dedication to public safety, readiness, and the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
