Ganderbal, October 24 (KNZ):In a concerted effort to intensify its campaign against narcotics, the Ganderbal Police on Friday carried out simultaneous raids at 12 locations across the district, targeting individuals suspected of involvement in drug peddling.
According to officials, the searches were conducted after obtaining due permission from the court. The operation was launched early in the day under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS).
Teams from multiple police stations participated in the coordinated exercise, which aimed at tracing the supply chains and networks operating behind the illicit trade. Sources said that several premises, including residential houses of suspected peddlers, were searched, and relevant material evidence is being scrutinised.
“The police are determined to root out the drug menace that threatens the youth and social fabric of the district. Similar actions will continue in the coming days,” the SSP said.
Ganderbal Police have in recent months intensified their anti-narcotics efforts, conducting awareness drives alongside enforcement measures. The ongoing crackdown is seen as part of a broader strategy to curb the rising instances of substance abuse in the region.KNZ
