Ganderbal, February 6:Ganderbal Police has registered a case against the owner of M/S Sheer-i-Kashmir Construction Pvt. Ltd. over allegations of illegally overcharging tourist vehicles in the name of sanitation fee at the SDA Toll Post, Shudkadi, Sonamarg.
Based on complaints received from tourists and transport operators, Police Station Sonamarg has lodged FIR No. 02/2026 under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the extent of the alleged illegal collection and identify others, if involved.
Ganderbal Police stated that it remains committed to protecting the rights of tourists and the general public. Officials warned that any individual or agency found indulging in unauthorized fee collection, overcharging, or harassment will face strict legal action.
