Ganderbal, August 29:In a swift and decisive response, Ganderbal Police have booked and arrested two individuals for brutally killing a stray dog in Safapora, an incident that sparked widespread outrage on social media and among locals.
The incident came to light through reliable sources and online reports, drawing strong condemnation for its inhumane nature. Acting promptly, Police Station Safapora registered a case FIR No. 13/2025 under relevant sections of law, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
During investigation, both accused persons were quickly identified and apprehended. Further legal proceedings in the case are underway.
SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS) stressed that cruelty against animals is a serious and punishable offence, warning that such acts will not be tolerated. He also urged citizens to treat animals with kindness and compassion, and to immediately report any instances of animal cruelty to the police.
