Ganderbal, 05 June:In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Ganderbal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession during a routine naka checking at Beehama.

Acting on routine security duties, a police party from Police Station Ganderbal had laid a naka checkpoint at Beehama. During the checking, one individual attempted to flee upon spotting the police presence. However, the alert naka team swiftly apprehended the suspect.

Upon personal search, the police recovered a charas-like substance wrapped in corn husks and concealed in a polythene bag. The accused has been identified as Ghulam Ahmad Parra, son of Ghulam Parra, resident of Beehama, Ganderbal.

A case under FIR No. 88/2025 has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.

Ganderbal Police reiterates its commitment to fighting the drug menace and appeals to the public to share any information about drug-related activities. Anonymity of informants will be strictly maintained.
