Ganderbal, September 7, 2025 — In a sustained crackdown against illegal mining activities, Ganderbal Police, in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, seized four vehicles engaged in unlawful extraction and transportation of minor minerals from Nallah Sindh.

The action was carried out within the jurisdictions of PS Lar and PS Gund, where three tippers and one tractor were intercepted and found illegally loaded with minerals. The seized vehicles bear the registration numbers: JK01S/1372, JK04B/0681, JK15/0205, and JK16B/7118.

Officials said the drive reflects the strong resolve of District Police Ganderbal and the Geology & Mining Department to curb illegal mining and safeguard natural resources. By taking strict action against violators, the authorities aim to preserve environmental balance and uphold the law.

Police have also urged the public to extend full cooperation by reporting any such unlawful activities in their areas. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, reiterating their commitment to act firmly against those indulging in illegal mineral trade.
