Ganderbal, January 20, 2026:The Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, on Tuesday chaired a comprehensive Security Review Meeting at the District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of the district.
The meeting was attended by Special DGP Coordination Shri S.J.M. Gillani, IPS; IGP Kashmir Zone Shri V.K. Birdi, IPS; DIG Central Kashmir Range Shri Rajiv Pandey, IPS; SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, along with other gazetted officers, SHOs, and district officers of Ganderbal Police.
During the meeting, the DGP reviewed law and order management, counter-terrorism preparedness, crime control strategies, and security arrangements for Republic Day–2026. He emphasized heightened vigilance, foolproof security planning, intensified area domination, and intelligence-driven operations to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations.
Addressing the officers, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, issued firm directions to deal decisively with anti-national elements posing a threat to public safety and peace. He reiterated zero tolerance towards activities inimical to national security while urging officers to maintain a people-friendly and professional approach.
The DGP also lauded the dedication and performance of Ganderbal Police and encouraged them to continue working with commitment and professionalism to uphold the rule of law and ensure a secure environment for the citizens.
Later, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, inaugurated a Multi-Utility Centre and other newly developed facilities at the DPO Ganderbal, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving public service delivery.
