Ganderbal 20 Dec (KNZ):Under the JK Green Drive and the flagship outreach programme “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur – Har Ghar Paudha Abhiyan”, the “A Free Tree to Every Home” initiative was successfully carried out by the Mansbal Range of the J&K Forest Department.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore (IAS), inaugurated the programme by distributing and planting saplings, emphasizing the importance of community participation in environmental conservation. He was followed by DFO Sindh, Iqbal Rasool Dar (IFS), who also planted saplings and highlighted the Forest Department’s commitment towards enhancing green cover and promoting ecological sustainability.
The initiative was implemented at the grassroots level by the Range Officer Mansbal, Mr. Basharat Ajaz Khan, who ensured the distribution of saplings to every household. The programme witnessed active participation and support from the field staff of the Forest Department, ensuring smooth execution and wide outreach.
The drive aims to encourage citizens to take ownership of environmental protection by planting and nurturing trees, thereby contributing to climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and a cleaner, greener Ganderbal.KNZ
