Ganderbal, Aug 19 (KNZ): Chief Engineer BRO Kashmir, Brigadier Chirag Ghura, today visited the damaged Kijpora bridge in Kangan along with Commander 32 BRTF Colonel Sandeep Jha and OC 122 RCC Gaurav Tripathi to assess the condition of the structure.
Brig. Ghura said that restoration work has already been initiated and assured that a new bridge will be completed by December this year.
He further informed that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) had already constructed an alternate road to ensure smooth vehicular movement in the area, so that locals do not face major hardships during the construction period.
The Chief Engineer clarified that due to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, the construction work was temporarily put on hold, but now the BRO has resumed operations with full pace to meet the December deadline.
The visit reflects BRO’s commitment to maintaining vital connectivity and addressing public concerns by providing timely infrastructure solutions in Kangan.KNZ
