Ganderbal, January 30, 2026:The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Patwari of the Revenue Department, posted at Mouza Gadoora in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 from a complainant.

According to an official press release issued by the CBI, a case was registered on January 28, 2026, after it was alleged that the accused public servant demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 for issuing an extract of Jamabandi and for rectification of revenue records related to a piece of land.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap on the same day and caught the Patwari red-handed while accepting ₹15,000 as part of the demanded bribe. The accused was subsequently arrested.

The CBI stated that further investigation in the matter is underway.
