Langate, July 05 : A brown bear was captured alive by a Wildlife Department team in khan tulwari Kargama area of north Kashmir’s kupwara district today noon.
A Wildlife Department official told API that on receiving information about the sighting of a brown bear along human habitation, a team of experts from range office sopore was sent to the area last evening.
“Searches to locate the bear were made and in the meantime a trap laid in the area”, the official said adding the bear was finally captured this morning without causing any injury to anyone.”
The beast has been been shifted to local forests, the official further said.
