Srinagar, Jan 22 : Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, Srinagar Police on Thursday launched a massive search and area domination operation in Maloora–Shaltang and adjoining areas to ensure peace and maintain a high level of security across the district.
As per officials, multiple police teams were deployed to conduct thorough searches, establish checkpoints, and carry out intensified patrolling in various sensitive pockets. The operation, they said, is part of the heightened security grid aimed at preventing any untoward incident during the run-up to Republic Day.
“Checkpoints have been established at multiple entry and exit points, and frisking of vehicles and pedestrians is being carried out to ensure foolproof security arrangements,” an official told the news agency Kashmir News Corner.
Meanwhile, police have appealed to the public to cooperate during security checks and report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station.—(KNC)
