Ganderbal, March 12: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal–JKPS, on Thursday chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at Ganderbal to assess the overall security preparedness across the district.

The meeting was attended by Gazetted Officers of Ganderbal Police, officers from the Army and CAPFs, besides Station House Officers (SHOs) and Duty Officers (DOs) from various police establishments of the district.

During the meeting, the SSP took a detailed review of the prevailing law and order situation, counter-terrorism preparedness, crime control measures, and overall security arrangements in view of Youm-ul-Quds and the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.

He stressed the need for heightened vigilance, robust security planning, intensified area domination, and strengthened intelligence-based operations to ensure peaceful and incident-free observance of the occasions across the district.

On the occasion, SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal also briefed the participants on the current security preparedness, including deployment strategies, vulnerability mapping, and preventive measures being implemented in different parts of the district. Special emphasis was laid on strengthening security at tourist destinations, transit routes, and other sensitive locations.

He further underscored the importance of close coordination among the Police, Army, and CAPFs to ensure effective operational synergy and a swift response to any emerging situation.

While appreciating the dedication and professionalism of the Ganderbal Police, the SSP exhorted all ranks to continue performing their duties with renewed zeal, discipline, and vigilance to maintain law and order and ensure a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for the people of the district.
