Bandipora, December 30: In a decisive step to curb illegal dumping and protect public spaces, the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Bandipora has issued a stern public notice directing the immediate removal of illegally dumped material from private premises, public roads, and government land across the district.

According to the notice, all such material must be cleared within two (02) days from the date of issuance. Failure to comply will result in immediate seizure and disposal of the material through auction, without any further notice to the defaulters.

The DMO has further warned that stringent legal action will be initiated against violators under the relevant laws and rules in force, and all consequences arising thereof shall be borne entirely by the defaulters at their own risk and cost. The order has been declared final and binding.

A copy of the notice has been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora for information and to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, with a request to direct the concerned SHOs to provide necessary police assistance to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the order.

Notably, since assuming charge, the District Mineral Officer Bandipora has been working tirelessly to curb illegal mining, unauthorised dumping, and encroachment, adopting a zero-tolerance approach to safeguard public infrastructure, environmental health, and the rule of law. The latest action is being seen as part of a sustained and focused drive against mineral-related violations in the district.

The authorities have urged residents and stakeholders to extend full cooperation in the larger interest of public safety, environmental protection, cleanliness, and maintenance of law and order, warning that any laxity or non-compliance will be dealt with firmly and without exception.

This strong move signals the administration’s resolve to restore order, protect natural resources, and ensure that public spaces in Bandipora remain safe and free from illegal activities.
