Ganderbal:BJP IT-Incharge Ganderbal, Aqib Bashir Bhat, has reaffirmed his strong commitment to building a Drugs-Free Ganderbal, stating that drug abuse poses a serious threat to youth, families, and the overall social fabric.
Bhat emphasized that protecting the younger generation is a collective responsibility requiring the active participation of parents, teachers, community leaders, and law-enforcement agencies. He stressed that only coordinated and sustained efforts can effectively prevent substance abuse and steer youth towards a positive and purposeful future.
Highlighting the need for a multi-pronged strategy, he called for enhanced awareness programmes, early identification and intervention, robust rehabilitation mechanisms, and strict action against drug peddlers. These steps, he said, are essential to breaking the cycle of addiction and ensuring long-term societal well-being.
Bhat also appreciated the commendable action taken yesterday by the SHO Ganderbal, terming it a strong and timely step in the ongoing fight against drugs.
He noted that the Ganderbal Police are on their toes to curb the drug menace and acknowledged the focused mission being led by the SSP Ganderbal, under whose supervision decisive and proactive measures are being taken across the district.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and supportive, encouraging open dialogue with youth and timely reporting of drug-related activities to the authorities.
Expressing confidence in collective resolve,Bhat said that with consistent efforts by the administration, police, and society, Ganderbal can emerge as a healthy, safe, and empowered district.
