Ganderbal, Dec 11, KNT: CRPF’s 118 Battalion on Thursday claimed that its personnel recovered ammunition during a cordon and search operation in the forest area of Surfraw, Gund in Ganderbal district.
Officials said that troops found SLR rounds from a Nallah in the densely forested belt during the operation. A total of 496 rounds were reportedly recovered.
CRPF officers said the circumstances under which the ammunition ended up in the area are being verified. They added that a detailed assessment is underway, and police have been informed about the recovery. [KNT]
