Ganderbal, Nov13:As part of an academic exposure tour, around 60 Law students from the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today visited Police Station Kheerbawani to gain firsthand insight into the functioning and practical aspects of policing and criminal justice administration.

During the visit, the students had an interactive session with SSP Ganderbal, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, who briefed them on the role, responsibilities, and ethical conduct of police personnel in maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and ensuring justice. He also discussed the legal procedures involved in investigation and trial, emphasizing the crucial coordination between the police, prosecution, and judiciary.

The students were familiarized with the internal working structure of the police station, including the maintenance of important records such as the Roznamcha (Daily Diary), FIR Register, Case Diaries, Property Registers, and other vital documentation that ensures transparency and accountability in police operations.

They were also briefed about procedures related to arrests, investigations, filing of charge sheets, convictions, acquittals, and the significance of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in evidence-based investigations.

The visit offered the students valuable practical exposure to the real-world functioning of the criminal justice system and the challenges faced by police officers in upholding justice and maintaining public peace.

The participating law students expressed gratitude to Ganderbal Police for organizing the educational visit, describing it as highly informative, insightful, and beneficial for their professional learning.
