Budgam, Nov 11, KNT: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Wahid Para on Tuesday launched a strong political attack on the National Conference, accusing it of turning its mandate against the people and displaying “frustration and political bankruptcy.”
Speaking to reporters in Budgam, Para said the NC, which had sought votes in the name of public representation and safeguarding people’s rights, had instead chosen to act against the very sentiment it once claimed to defend. “The NC has used the mandate of the people against the very people who elected them, against Mehbooba Mufti and the PDP. They have gone as far as calling people, power thieves and land grabbers,” he said.
He alleged that the National Conference had “disowned its own Member of Parliament” and maintained silence on key political and public issues in Delhi. “Their silence and contradictions reflect deep frustration and lack of vision. They received a mandate to fight for people’s rights, yet have nothing to offer except rhetoric against the PDP,” Para said.
Criticizing the governance situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the PDP leader asserted that administrative failures were evident across the board. “There is no governance, no delivery, and no accountability. Ironically, the NC is compelling others to talk about governance when there is none,” he added. [KNT]
