Ganderbal, Nov 4:In its continued crackdown on illegal mining activities, Ganderbal Police has seized eight vehicles involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals from various areas falling under the jurisdictions of Police Station Ganderbal, Police Station Gund, and Police Post Nagbal.

During the special drive, the vehicles were found transporting minerals without valid permits and were immediately seized on the spot by police teams in close coordination with the Department of Geology and Mining.

Illegal extraction of minor minerals poses a serious threat to the environment and causes substantial losses to the public exchequer. Taking strong note of this menace, Ganderbal Police has reaffirmed its commitment to act sternly against individuals or groups involved in such unlawful practices.

The public has been strongly advised to refrain from engaging in illegal mining or transportation of minerals, as strict legal action will be taken against violators.
