Ganderbal, October 13:In a firm action aimed at curbing public disorder and reinforcing civic discipline, Ganderbal Police has successfully secured the conviction of two individuals for creating a public nuisance in the Kangan area.

The convicted persons — Sahil Ahmad Rather, son of Manzoor Ahmad Rather, and Mohd Hussain Rather, son of Ghulam Mohd Rather, both residents of Kangan — were found guilty of causing public disturbance in an intoxicated state, thereby disrupting peace and tranquility in their locality.

Following due legal proceedings, the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class (JMIC) Court, Kangan awarded both the accused community service punishment, directing them to clean the premises of the court as part of their sentence.

A police spokesperson said that such initiatives reflect the department’s commitment to community-oriented policing and serve as a strong deterrent against acts of public nuisance and misbehavior.
