Ganderbal, Sep 18:As part of its sustained efforts to strengthen police-public relations and enhance youth awareness, Ganderbal Police on Thursday organised a Student Outreach Programme at Police Station Gund and Police Post Shadipora.
Students from Government Middle School Gund and Sadat Valley Public School Wakoora were invited to the respective units, where they were given a guided tour and familiarised with various records, procedures, and equipment used in day-to-day policing. Officers also briefed the students about the services provided by police establishments and the vital role of law enforcement in maintaining peace and order.
The young visitors actively interacted with police personnel and expressed appreciation for the initiative, which gave them first-hand exposure to the functioning of the policing system.
According to officials, the programme is aimed at fostering transparency, building trust in law enforcement agencies, and motivating the younger generation to grow into responsible citizens.
Community engagement activities of this nature form an important part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s vision to strengthen community policing and encourage youth participation in civic awareness initiatives.
