Sonamarg 27 July :A video featuring a visibly upset tourist, Ashok Singh from Hyderabad, has gone viral after he raised serious concerns over the lack of basic civic amenities at the popular tourist destination, Sonamarg, in Kashmir.

Singh, who visited the glacier area to enjoy its famed beauty, said he was “deeply disappointed” after not finding even a single dustbin or public toilet in the vicinity. “What message am I supposed to take back to my friends and family in Hyderabad?” he questioned, expressing embarrassment over the conditions.

He made a direct appeal to the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, and CEO of the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) to urgently intervene and ensure basic facilities are provided.

A female tourist accompanying him also highlighted the hardship faced by women due to the unavailability of ladies’ washrooms, calling it “inhumane and shameful” for a destination of such national importance.

Visitors questioned how a world-famous hill station like Sonamarg, which draws lakhs of tourists annually, could lack even the bare minimum facilities.

The video has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for immediate government action to avoid damaging Kashmir’s tourism image further.KNZ
