Ganderbal, January 19: – District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired District Level Review Committee & District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting to review the performance of Banks operating in the district Ganderbal & line departments for the quarters ended June & September, 2020 in the Conference Hall Mini Secretariat Ganderbal under District credit plan (DCP) 2020-21.

The meeting was attended by Vice-president & Zonal Head, J&K Bank Zone 2nd, Syed Shujaat Hussain, CPO Ganderbal, Irfan Ahmad, Lead District Manager Ganderbal Nissar Ahmad Bhat, DDM NABARD, Director RSETI, Ganderbal, District Coordinators of Banks, District Officers of Line Departments.
The forum discussed in detail the progress and achievements made by banks in the implementation of the various government sponsored schemes, like KCC, NRLM, NULM, SHG, Handloom, Handicrafts, Mudra, PMEGP, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, SC/ST/OBC, PMAY (Housing for all).

The progress achieved in key sectors like Agriculture, Micro &Small Enterprises, Education, Housing, Priority & Non-priority sectors and loans to economically weaker sections was also discussed.

Giving detailed summary of the achievements for the quarter ended June 2020 under District Credit Plan, Lead District Manager, Ganderbal Nissar Ahmad informed the house that banks have disbursed an amount of Rs 91.28 crores against the yearly target of Rs 750.01 crores thus achieving 12% of District Credit Plan, 2020-21.

Also LDM informed the house that the total deposits of the district have increased from Rs 1404.10 crores as on 30.06.2019 to Rs 1556.15 crores on 30.06.2020 witnessing a growth of 10.83% on YOY basis while advances have increased from Rs 1000.02 crores as on 30.06.2019 to Rs 1134.80 crores on 30.06.2020 registering a growth of 13.48% on YOY basis.

Speaking of the achievements for the quarter ending September, 2020 the LDM said that all the banks in the district have disbursed Rs 252.62 crores to 12660 beneficiaries against the yearly targets of Rs 750.01crores thus achieving 34% of district credit plan of 2020-21.

on the occasion, the Chairman DLRC Shafqat Iqbal advised all the banks and sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation, coordination and cohesion to achieve targets and goals of the development and progress besides generation of employment for the youth of the district.

The chairman appreciated the performance of the J&K Bank and advised all other banks to put in strenuous efforts and up their respective achievements vis-à-vis targets. He also stressed upon the banks & line departments to clear long pending cases at business units and ensure 100% coverage of all farm operating families under KCC Scheme before the end of March 2021.

In Agriculture, MSME, Priority sector, Weaker Section and Non Priority sector, the banks in the district have disbursed Rs 61.59 crores, 60.10 crores, 130.72 crores, 51.70 crores & Rs 121.90 crores respectively in the 2nd quarter ending September 2020. The total deposits of the district have increased from Rs 1404.19 crores as on 30.09.2019 to Rs1589.66 crores on 30.09.2020 witnessing a growth of 13.21%on YOY basis while advances have increased from Rs 1013.98 crores as on 30.09.2019 to Rs 1220.13 crores on 30.09.2020 registering a growth of 20.33% on YOY basis. The CD Ratio of the district stood at 77% as on 30.09.2020.

Chairman DLRC Shafqat Iqbal also directed all the banks & line departments to conduct awareness programs at Village /Block / Panchayat level to increase awareness among the people about social security schemes and other developmental programs of the government.
Vice–President & Zonal Head of J&K Bank Syed Shujaat Hussain Andrabi in response to various queries raised in the meeting informed that the J&K Bank is committed in effecting a total financial inclusion of the district & approved delivery points I.e. New Business Units and ATMs which could not be opened till date shall be made operational before the end of the current financial year.
Vice-President J&K Bank also assured the chair, to address the pending issue of opening the branch at Wayil Wudar, Ganderbal.
