Kangan Jan 14( knz): Acting on the directions of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan, Dr. Nazir Ahmad, the Food Safety Department on Wednesday conducted an extensive market inspection drive to ensure the availability of safe, hygienic and wholesome food for consumers.
During the inspection, roadside vendors dealing in high-risk food items, including head meat and chicken, were instructed to strictly adhere to prescribed hygiene and safety standards. Officials warned that any violation would invite strict action, including sealing of temporary establishments and prohibition of business activities under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Subsequently, the Food Safety Officer inspected Palaash Child Care Institute in Kangan and collected food samples for laboratory analysis. The samples were drawn from food prepared and served to children to verify compliance with quality and safety norms.
Authorities stated that such enforcement drives will continue on a regular basis to safeguard public health and ensure accountability among food business operators.(knz)
